When a Christian falls into sin; we often hear things like: “that person fell from grace.” According to the scripture falling from grace is when a believer attempts to be justified by law or one’s own merit (see Galatians 5:4). This is why folks fall into sin because they rely on their own strength rather than the empowering ability of God (i.e. grace). Always remember: law focuses you on you, whereas grace focuses you on Christ in you the only Hope of empowering glory (see Col.1:27).

Believers often ask the question: “What is God’s will for my life?” 1 Thess. 5:18 states, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Notice that the verse says “in everything”, not; “for everything.” For example: we do not thank God for sickness; we resist sickness. But in the midst of sickness; we can thank God, that because of what Jesus has done, He is my Healer. Thanksgiving is based upon the acknowledgement of what one has, both spiritually and physically. The more one realizes what they have, the more that person will reside in what I call “thanksgiving living.”
