Our Mission & Vision
The mission of True Life Church is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.
Leadership Team:
Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.
Pastor Chris, Senior Pastor
Chris Barhorst is a called of God Bible teacher and pastor of True Life Church in Greenville Ohio. He has served at True Life Church for nineteen years and has ministered for over 30 years. Pastor Chris has a passion for carefully unpacking the truths of Scripture. He holds an Associate Degree in Biblical studies and a Bachelor’s Degree of Ministry from Central Christian University of Blytheville, Arkansas. Chris is a graduate of the Charis Bible College Continuing Education for Ministers program and serves as a Regional Advocate for ARMI (Association of Related Ministers International), Andrew Wommack’s Minister’s association. In addition to his pastorate, Chris is passionate about witnessing to the lost, which includes apologetics and those deceived by false religious groups such as Mormons and Jehovah’s Witness’. Pastor Chris believes that the more a believer understands the true grace and faith message, the more that message will motivate that person to action. Chris and his wife, Jennifer, live in Greenville, Ohio. They have four children and two grand-children.
Pastor Joel, Youth Pastor
Pastor Joel is an exemplary youth pastor who leads and guides our church’s middle and high school students. He strives to make all students understand the journey of their souls, encourage students who are interested in the knowledge of God, and support them to develop their love for Him and for others. Joel provides students with a place to belong that gives them the courage to be different and resilient to unhealthy peer pressure. He has a proficient understanding of the challenges young people face, and is compassionate towards them. Pastor Joel provides students and their families with biblical counseling.

Pastor Julie, Children’s Pastor
Pastor Julie is responsible for all aspects of a dynamic ministry for children—birth through 7th Grade—and their parents. This includes connecting and equipping parents, volunteers, and the broader church community to participate in developing our children spiritually, emotionally, and holistically as it aligns with the Gospel. She is focused on both children as well as the family as a whole, she partners with parents to develop spiritually and emotionally mature kids who discover the heart of God and who actively extend His Kingdom. Julie is a leader who is focused on reaching the next generation, being commission-minded and servant-hearted in all she does for our growing church. With a pastoral heart towards families and children, she provides leadership, vision, direction, and a safe environment for our children.
Pastor Erica, Outreach Pastor
Pastor Erica functions in leading the church to grow by providing Biblical leadership in the area of evangelism, working with and under the direction of Pastor Chris. She enables the church to focus on carrying out the Great Commission and equips the church to carry out the five functions of the New Testament church: evangelism, discipleship, ministry, fellowship, and worship. She is responsible for the overall planning, development and deployment of programs designed to spread the gospel in the church and the community. She has a visible commitment to Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit and one whose life demonstrates said commitment. She has a contagious faith and a commitment to one’s own spiritual journey and a passion for seeing others grow in faith.

Pastors Linda Swallow & Steve Hart, Care Pastors
Pastors Steve Hart and Linda Swallow desire to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ by mobilizing, modeling, partnering in, and championing a compelling, Christ-centered vision for soul care and the ministry of counseling at True Life Church. They each have the heart of a shepherd, live life in accordance with the requirements of a biblical elder, and work for the
building up of the body of Christ by cultivating a culture and practice of care and compassion throughout the True Life Church community. They both cast a vision and develop a culture of care and compassion that are persistently practiced across the TLC body. They develop and implement a strategy and plan for delivering the right care to the right people by caring and compassionate pastors and volunteers. They develop and implement necessary communication channels and processes to ensure needs are known and addressed. Partnering with outside agencies as appropriate to deliver care and compassion ministries that are beyond TLC’s capabilities or resources. Enable communication to make leaders aware of other TLC care & compassion services that may help (benevolence, widow care, grief or divorce care, visitation, etc.) Engage in personal pastoral care for congregants through pastoral prayer and encouragement, visitation (hospital, home or phone calls), funerals, and counseling. Taking initiative in growing and nurturing this ministry as a part of their leadership, they are building strong relationships and trust with the members, visitors, and the community of True Life Church. Both Steve and Linda have an active walk with Christ and are consistently exhibiting a Christ-like character. The two of them possess an authentic, genuine spirit in their faith, work, and relationships. They are strongly gifted in the area of leading/shepherding with a skill and gift for remembering people, listening, understanding, and connecting people with each other and in ministries at the church. They love people and have a heart for talking with, connecting with, caring for, and helping others
What we believe:
The church believes in one God, who exists in three persons – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Father God is loving, holy and just.
The church believes that the Bible is God’s Word. It is inspired and accurate. It is our perfect guide in all matters of life.
The church believes that sin has separated us all from God, and that only through Jesus Christ can we be reconciled to God, and that one must be born again through putting faith into Jesus’ work upon the cross (i.e. His death, burial and resurrection.)
The church believes that Jesus Christ is both God and man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless life, took all our sins upon Himself, died and rose again.
The church believes that Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Mediator.
The church believes that salvation is the gift of God to man. This gift is affected by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and it results in works pleasing to God.
The church believes that water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of god and a testimony of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
The church believes that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter. He guides us in all areas of our lives. He also blesses us with spiritual gifts and empowers us to yield the fruit of the Spirit.
The church believes that the Holy Communion is a celebration of Jesus’ death and our remembrance of Him.
The church believes that God wants to transform, heal and prosper us, so that we can live blessed and victorious lives that will impact and help others.
The church believes that we are called to preach the correct perception of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people.
The church believes that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again just as He promised.
The church believes in the importance of discipling believers.
